The Chamfer Router Bit is an indispensable edge-forming tool in woodworking, specifically engineered to cut a
precise, flat beveled angle into the sharp, 90-degree corner of a workpiece.

Defined by its straight cutting edge set at an angle—most commonly 45°, but also available in 22.5°,
30°, and other degrees—this bit allows you to create a crisp, clean diagonal face on an edge. It is a highly
versatile tool, most frequently used to soften a sharp edge for comfort and visual appeal, or to add a refined,
subtle decorative detail to furniture, tabletops, and built-ins.

Beyond simple edge detailing, the chamfer bit is critical for creating perfect, tight-fitting miter joints for
multi-sided projects like custom boxes, picture frames, and planters, as the angled cut ensures a seamless corner
without complex saw setups.

Most chamfer bits feature a guide bearing at the tip, which rides along the edge of the material to control the
depth and width of the cut, ensuring perfectly consistent results with minimal setup.

Application:

• Router bits are for use with router machines only.
• Be sure that at least 3/4 of the shaft length is inserted into the router collet.
• Do not ‘bottom-out’ the bit in the collet. The shank should be 1/8′ from the bottom of the collet.
